Last year's Met Gala (the annual fundraising event held in New York's Metroplitan Museum of Art's Costume Institiute and hosted by US Vogue Magazine) sticks in the memory mainly for Rhianna's "omelette" dress, which sparked a million memes online.

This year, the theme was "Manus x Machina" and which was interpreted in myraid ways. Metallics were the most obvious and popular choice.

Kim Kardashian stuck with her favourite designer of the moment, Balmain, whilst rising Instagram star and sister of Lucky Blue Smith, Pyper went in custom H&M. Sticking with the silver theme was a radiant Brie Larson in tiered Proenza Schouler and...

As you'll know if you've been following us (or any fashion news) of late, it's British Vogue's Centenary year. For its special June issue there has been much speculation about whom editor, Alexandra Shulman, would put on the coveted cover. Personally, I thought she might go with Kate Moss, or a well-known British actress. But, she's managed one better, and landed the one person surely all editors want on their magazine - the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton.

The shoot took place early in the year outdoors in the grounds of her Norfolk home, Anmer Hall. The photos were taken by top fashion photographer, Josh Olins and styled by...

Next in our series of vintage jewellery designers and companies is Tiffany & Co. The company was founded by Charles Lewis Tiffany & John B. Young in Brooklyn in 1837 as a "stationery and fancy goods emporium"  and was originally known as " Tiffany, Young & Ellis".  When they opened the store they clearly maked all the items with prices to prevent customers from haggling which was prevalent at the time.  They also only accepted cash.

It's first mail order catalogue was published in 1845 in the US and was known as the "blue book" due to the colour of its' cover (Pantone 1837). At that time it also supplied the Union Army with its'...

Festival season has officially kicked off with last weekend's Coachella.  Coachella always looks like the best festival to attend as it's situated in the heart of California's Colorado Desert and temperatures regularly exceed 40C!  It's a record setter for a festival too selling 198,000 tickets and grossing $84.3 million.  It's also a good opportunity for models and actresses to hang out and set the trends for upcoming seasons as the trend-spotters are out in force!

Setting the bar high was Brit actress Joanne Frogatt in floor-length animal print with lots of chains and bracelets, along with these other festival goers in their...

Weddings are big business.  The average cost of one in the UK last year was a staggering £30,111*.  It's no wonder so many people want a piece of such a big pie.  With that in mind a raft of High Street retailers have launched ranges recently in the hope their loyal fans will think nothing of walking down the aisle in an off-the-rack frock.

This week H&M launched its range of dresses suitable for brides on a budget. With dresses from £29.99 and separates from £19.99 the chain really has brought bridal to the masses.  It's easy to see why brides would step away from paying on average £1378 on a dress when the High Street can kit...

Regular readers will know we are lucky enough to be based beside the seaside in Brighton!  The view from our windows today is showing signs of Spring with sunshine, flower buds and some horses grazing in the field opposite - how lucky are we?!  But all this has gone to our heads and made us think about what we need to re-fresh our wardrobes as the mercury rises.

Personally, I intend to be wearing off-the-shoulder t-shirts and blouses, and the best thing to accessorise that neckline is a statement necklace.  I've already ensured that the White Coventry Flower necklace is in my wardrobe! And what will look better with a tan (or extra...

Last night was Oscars night!  For anyone not able to stay up and watch the live coverage here's a quick run-down of who stole the (sartorial) show!

First up, huge congratulations to surely everyone's favourite actor Leo DiCaprio - who won his first Oscar for his role in the Revenant - after originally being nominated 22 years ago!

Best Actress went to Brie Larson for Room who looked stunning in bright blue Gucci.  Cate Blanchett wowed in palest aqua Armani Prive as did Saoirse Ronan in darker coloured Calvin Klein. Another standout look was Naomi Watts also in Armani.

Opting for paler hues were Lady Gaga in a...
