Yes, it is "a thing"! Just as many of us have sections of our wardrobe for work, denim, jumpers etc, increasingly we are doing the same thing with our jewellery and accessories. Over the last 5 years the amount of affordable "costume" jewellery sold has increased by 10.2% to £501million. This is largely because fashion jewellery is no longer just an imiation of fine jewellery styles but has become a key piece to update an outfit of accessorise a look.
The right accessories can really finish off a look; whether that be for a busy day in the corporate world or camping at a music festival. So, what items are useful for everyone?
First up - diamonds!! Obviously in an ideal World we'd all be dripping in diamonds but as the World is less than ideal we'll make-do with diamante! We have some lovely Swarovski crystal glass stud earrings which look just as good as the real thing but at £10 you can have multiple pairs!
Next up, bracelets - our stretch bracelets are perfect here. Bangles tend to bash about and get in the way when you're trying to do anything from typing to shopping. The stretch bracelets give a subtle hint of colour and sparkle and don't get in the way. And better yet they're available in 22 colours which means there's literally one to go with every single thing you own!
A cocktail ring - basically a ring with a large stone! Again, we can help you out here too! The Cushion-Cut Ring with Black Diamond Stone fits all fingers due to it clever stretch base and the black diamond literally goes with anything at all - a necessity over Christmas. If over-sized isn't your thing then the 3 row stretch pack is my current favourite, the white version looks fab stacked up and worn with a cozy Christmas jumper (we know you own one too!)
Pearls - of course any vintage-loving girl worth her salt will know how to rock her pearls. My favourite is the 1 Row Graduated Necklace, which looks as good on your trend loving mum as your Topshop loving niece! Or the 3 Row for something a little more classic.
A good brooch is invaluable - particularly this season when the '70's trend is still all over the High Street. They look fabulous at the collar of a shirt or even on the collar of a shirt, on the lapel of a coat, pinning together a cape or go Gucci and attach one to a beret!
