Yeay! The juggernaut that is Fashion Week has landed in London! We're already towards the end of it so I'll briefly get up to speed.
Anya Hindmarch, white trainers went with everything and old-school retailer logos on bags and clothes including WH Smith and John Lewis!
I wanted to hate Victoria Beckham's range when she started her own label, but she seems to have really hit her stride with her Victoria diffusion line this season. The range looks young and (fingers crossed!) affordable. The prints were over-sized blooms in a palette of brights on white or black with cape-back detailing and lots of volume. The range was apparently inspired by a trip to Morocco and its' colourfully designed tiles. I'm not sure / convinced that it's Victoria who actually does the designing, but whomever it is has done a good job for this season! And if the rumours are true she could be coming to a High Street near you soon with an H&M collaboration!
London's big hitter is Burberry which has become Britain's premier luxury label. We're all still trying to forget the Great Burberry Check Rip-off of 2002, when it became known as the Chav Check after "celebrities" such as Danniella Westbrook was snapped wearing it head to toe. When Christopher Bailey took over as brand lead he re-invigorated the company and made it fashionable and desirable again. Last year he sent out the models in personalised scarves and shawls which sent the High Street into over-drive and a waiting list as long as your arm (well, several arms actually). This season it seems like he's done it again but this time with personalised vinyl backpacks trimmed with leather. I already know I want one!
