As we're getting amongst end-of-year shenanigans, awards shows and lists I thought we'd put our own little review out there! Many news stories were nothing short of depressing, so the entire World let out a collective "ahhhhhh" when Princess Charlotte was born on 2nd May after her mum's super-stylish pregnancy. Slightly less stylish, were some registered baby names following her birth which included both Royaltee and Princecharles - yes really!!
Alessandro Michele took over at the helm of Gucci following the departure of Frida Giannini, and immediately we were hooked on his geek-girl designs. There can be no argument that his 70's vintage-inspired collections have had a huge impact on our High Street with all the main stores referencing his designs. We have him to thank for wearing berets, backless fur-lined loafers and pinning brooches onto everything! Even Harry Styles has been wearing his creations - including the floral red suit he wore on Sunday's X Factor finale (which divided opinion but which this Lovett Lady loved!)
The Top 5 most searched for women of the year on the internet (according to Polyvore) were Ariana Grande, Kendall Jenner, Taylor Swift, Kim Kardashian and Olivia Palermo. No surprise to see the Kardashian / Jenners up there and we all know that Olivia is super-stylish so we can only assume Taylor and Ariana appear due to new music coming out (and possibly their romantic dalliances...)
So, what to look forward to in 2016..? Well, as we've already reported there's been a fair bit of shuffling about at the top fashion houses - with the design director roles still waiting to be filled at both Lanvin and Dior. Our big one to look out for though is Demna Gvasalia who's taken over at Balenciaga.
From a jewellery perspective it looks set to be another year where no outfit will be complete with some sparkly accoutrements. Individuality is key and whether that means wearing a tiara as at Saint Laurent, or stacking up your rings or bracelets there are many ways to look stylish and sparkly!
Necklaces are worn tighter to the throat as seen at Lanvin, Chanel and Nina Ricci - Lovett & Co can help you with this trend too. Our milkstone range looks great worn on its tightest link as does the Sparkle Stone Choker (which is currently available in 5 colours and it's in the sale!)
Whatever you wear next year enjoy every second, wear a smile and you'll always look - and feel - your best!
