The 1st June, would have been Marilyn Monroe's 89th birthday.  To mark the event, rare photographs taken just 3 weeks before her death in 1962 have come up for auction in London.  Thursday (4th june) will see 99 prints taken from just 8 photographs be sold at Dreweatts & Bloomsbury Auctions. All the photos were taken by Monroe's friend, photographer George Barris on Santa Monica beach on July 13th 1962. They are being sold for an estimate of £700-£900, so definitely affordable for those who've been saving their money! The shots only serve to remind us how utterly stunning she was and why she's remained such an icon and inspiration so long after her death.
